JOB SUMMARY:

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will coordinate the activities and operations of the warehouse, such as verifying and keeping records of incoming and outgoing shipments, unpacking incoming shipments and preparing outgoing shipments.  This is a vital role in our operations, as you will play a key part in maintaining efficient inventory management and customer satisfaction.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Receive incoming shipments and verify the contents against purchase orders or invoices
  • Inspect packages for damages or defects.
  • Unload, unpack, and properly store incoming inventory.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling items.
  • Ensure accuracy of order fulfillment by verifying quantities and product quality.
  • Utilize basic math skills to calculate shipping costs, weights, and dimensions.
  • Operate forklifts, or other equipment to load and unload materials, as needed.
  • Maintain organized records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve any shipping or receiving discrepancies.
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assemble and stage products/ kits to be shipped.
  • Maintains inventory of materials and supplies.
  • Uses Excel to record and scan shipment(s).

 REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using computer systems for inventory tracking and order processing; proficiency in Excel required.
  • Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn company product codes and terminology.
  • Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to inventory.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of related work experience required.
  • Valid state motor vehicle operators license for forklift truck required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift up heavy packages (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, as needed.
  • Must be able to travel, as required, approximately 10%.
