Account Manager-Public Safety - Expedition Communications

JOB SUMMARY:

As the Account Manager – Public Safety you’ll work with management to identify, qualify, and advance opportunities for Expedition Communications’ Rapid Deployable Solutions. The business line includes a full suite of end-to-end telecommunications products and services built to meet the needs of public safety.

You will be responsible for building a managed pipeline of business within the specified verticals by using both the marketing that the company invests in to create inbound leads and by prospecting on your own. Prospecting may include but will not be limited to prospecting via phone, email, and tradeshow attendance.

You’ll make connections and nurture leads to close the sale and then service the customer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Sell Rapid Deployable Solutions (RDS) to prospective customers. Once a pipeline of new customers has been established, priorities can shift to upsell opportunities with existing clients
  • You will participate in the development, presentation, and sales of a value proposition and solution that meets the client’s needs. Negotiate pricing and contractual agreement to close the sale and liaison with other departments as necessary to facilitate a pleasant customer experience.
  • This role is relationship driven. It requires a person that understands the importance of a solution sale and appreciates solving challenges vs. selling more.
  • It requires a focused person with the skills to understand and speak technically when needed but one who also has the ability to translate complicated into easy-to-digest information.
  • A solutions-based thinker with strong communication skills and a clear focus on business results is a requirement.
  • Use inbound leads and outbound efforts to build a sales pipeline for the RDS line
  • Attend meetings – mostly virtual, in person as needed, to create opportunities
  • Attend trade shows/events as needed to create new connections and new sales opportunities
  • Stay up to date on what is happening in the world of Public Safety, First Responders, and the government sector.
  • what is important to them now, and what will be needed.
  • Work with Marketing to produce missing sales collateral to help socialize the product line.
  • Grow relationships with local First Responder agencies and Municipalities.
  • Constantly be on the lookout for new touch point opportunities with this vertical.
  • Grow a new pipeline of annual sales.
  • Manage the book of business and look for new opportunities.
  • Churn Management & customer Issues/escalations.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven sales success.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Demonstratable Experience within the Public Safety/First Responder or Gov. Sectors.
  • Experience with a CRM, Salesforce Preferred.
  • Experience with Selling Telecommunications Solutions.
  • Familiar with preparing RFP responses, Presentations, and Budgeting for Proposals.
  • Ability to pivot between short and long selling cycles.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills and the Ability to Skillfully Complete Sophisticated Sales Manage your time efficiently and provide regular updates to management on your progress, identifying challenges and new opportunities as they arise

  • This position is required travel of up to 25 %.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s in business administration, Communications, or related work experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of proven sales experience selling to or from within Public, Safety, first responder, and government verticals.
    • Former law enforcement or firefighter experience is a plus.
  • Telecommunications Experience preferred.
  • Proven Sales Background.
  • Self-Starter with a strong work ethic, willing to jump in with both feet.

 

Reports to: VP of Sales & Marketing

 

This is a Hybrid position located in Carlsbad CA or Atlanta, fully remote can be considered for the right candidate. The role requires excellent responsiveness in order to respond to clients and team members across many time zones and priority types. It is a salary position and non-commissioned paid on a bi-weekly basis. This position is classified as an exempt position.
