Expedition Communications contributed personnel resources to the hurricane relief effort. Expedition Communications used our nationwide coverage to reestablish communication to more than 30 VSAT systems located in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, Appalachian and Mid-West.

Our partnerships with local telecommunication operators and relief organizations enabled our technicians the necessary site access requirements and resources to restore systems more efficiently and quickly. Hurricane Sandy (unofficially known as “Superstorm Sandy”) was the deadliest and most destructive hurricane of the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season, as well as the second-costliest hurricane in United States history.
In the United States, Hurricane Sandy affected 24 states, including the entire eastern seaboard from Florida to Maine and west across the Appalachian Mountains to Michigan and Wisconsin, with particularly severe damage in New Jersey and New York.
